Dr. Patil earned his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India and went on to train in neurosurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin, the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, the LSU Health Sciences Center and The Hague and Leiden University Medical Center. Prior to joining Piedmont, he was the Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He has special interests in minimally invasive methods for treatment of spinal disorders, complex spine instrumentation and reconstruction for adult spinal deformity, spine and brain tumors, peripheral nerve surgery and spine Biomechanics and Motion preserving treatment of degenerative spines.
